Inspiration for the Day, December 1, 2013:
A few weeks ago, a very nice lady from my church passed away from natural causes. At the funeral, they showed a video of her reciting original poems aloud. They also gave each of us who attended a booklet of the poems. As a tribute to Marion Serr and a life well-lived, I will post these poems over the next several days for all to enjoy:
Free to Soar
Confined within this body,
oft shackled by my will,
the spirit strives with might and mien
to transcend the pettiness, the pain,
until at last dark earth my blanket is,
and the brief sojourn is o'er.
Weep not for the body, cold and still;
my soul is free to soar.
Free to Soar
Confined within this body,
oft shackled by my will,
the spirit strives with might and mien
to transcend the pettiness, the pain,
until at last dark earth my blanket is,
and the brief sojourn is o'er.
Weep not for the body, cold and still;
my soul is free to soar.
